I'm Kosta, and together with my wife Suzi, we opened Discount Appliance in June. As entrepreneurs striving to live the American dream, we haven't had any time off. Initially, business was slow, but we were thrilled as customers began to discover us. We're seeking assistance because, while our growth since June has been positive, we need to increase our followers. Could you please share our website and Facebook page?
In our family business, Suzi and I alternate shifts to manage our daily tasks. We were thrilled about taking a week off for a family wedding, but it meant closing the shop just as we were gaining new customers. I was distraught, feeling like I was letting our customers down, as we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. However, sometimes the universe has its own plans. Our marketing expert, who handles our social media and this website, offered a solution. Brenna stopped by to check on our progress and upon learning about our upcoming closure, she had a spark of inspiration.
She suggested, "Kosta, we need to update the website anyways, so I'll come in, open the store, and keep the customers happy." I liked the idea immediately but wanted Suzi's input. Although Brenna has other clients and our hours would be reduced, it was better than closing entirely. When I shared the idea with Suzi, she agreed without hesitation.
Knowing my store was in capable hands, I packed with a smile, eagerly anticipating some rest and relaxation. However, Mother Nature had different plans for Florida, and being in Mexico, I was unprepared for the events that unfolded.
Upon landing in Mexico, I learned of a hurricane in the Gulf named Milton, seemingly headed for Florida. I thought, "You've got to be kidding me," especially since both Suzi and I were away that week. Although Brenna was there to assist, it seemed unfair to expect her to watch over the store, particularly if there was damage. The worst part was the helplessness of just watching and waiting. You know the drill: wait and wonder whether it will veer north or south, hit Fort Myers directly, or head towards Tampa. So much for rest and relaxation; Suzi and I were concerned about our condo and store.
After Hurricane Milton struck Florida, tornadoes swept across the city, with one alarmingly close to the store in North Fort Myers. Brenna kept us updated on the storm surge, winds, and rain, and then we learned of the tornadoes. Having barely recovered from Hurricane Ian two years prior, our community did not need another devastating storm. Thankfully, after the storm passed, Brenna kindly checked on our condo and the store. I was relieved to learn both were unscathed. So, what's next? I'm in Mexico until Saturday, but now we can finally unwind before returning home to assist those in need.
We are aware that many people in our area could use our assistance, and we are glad to offer as much help as we can. Our store is currently featuring some exciting deals. Thanks to Brenna's efforts, our inventory is now fully updated on our website, allowing you to browse our products before visiting to determine if we have the right appliance for you. We are pleased to offer free delivery within 20 miles of our store; deliveries beyond this range may incur a nominal fee.
We are here for you in times of need. We understand how difficult it is when natural disasters strike and flood your home. It may seem overwhelming, but maintaining a positive outlook is key to overcoming these challenges. In Florida, we always lend a hand to each other whenever possible, and we'll extend the same support to you. On our website, you can learn about Snap Financing, which allows you to acquire everything you need with an initial small payment. It's straightforward - we can assist you in getting started, and the best part is that it won't affect your FICO Score.
Going forward Suzi and I want to share directly with everyone that we're planning a fun customer appreciation event in the coming months. Brenna, perhaps you can take this as a cue to start brainstorming, as I'll be seeking your assistance with this event. Keep an eye out for the big announcement regarding the date, but we're aiming for early December. Please continue to follow us on Facebook for updates on our activities. To all those affected by the storm, we continue to pray for a swift recovery and stand ready to help when you are.
